- Read or be familiar with tool operation. See general instructions posted near the machine.
- If you need assistance with any operation, please ask the shop monitor or shop manager for help.
- Crosscutting only:
- No miter cuts (use sliding compound miter saw).
- Do not cut round or oval wood.
- For a smoother cut, cut with the good side facing down.
- Before starting a cut, make sure the motor is at full operation speed.
- Cut slowly. Give the saw time to cut.
- Push the saw back as well as pulling through to eliminate stalling. Do not let saw retract back by itself.
- Do not cross arms when holding wood against the fence.
- If wood is on the left side of blade, hold wood with left hand and pull with right hand.
- Keep top free of unnecessary items (tape, extra wood).
- Place straight edge of board against fence when possible.
- If not possible, put convex (bow or outward curve side) not concave side against the fence to prevent pinching of blade.
- To avoid kickback, always hold the work piece securely against the table and fence.
- You can cross cut up to 23 ½” (24” if you raise the end).
- If you raise the blade, lower it back to just below the table top.
- Clean up when finished.
